Tangail, 29 October 2026 — Young people in Tangail took the microphone to speak for peace at a youth dialogue organized by IYCM-Tangail, the Tangail team of International Youth Change Maker (IYCM). The session was part of IYCM’s “Youth for Peace, Equality & A Nuclear-Free World” campaign and was led by Israt Jahan Eity. Around 40 young participants joined.
A dialogue led by young voices
This session was built around conversation rather than lecture. Participants stood up one after another to share their thoughts, ask questions and respond to each other. They spoke about:
- Why nuclear weapons threaten everyone, not just one country
- What peace and equality mean in their own lives
- How young people can help build a safer, nuclear-free future
IYCM-Tangail volunteers guided the discussion and encouraged everyone to speak, especially those taking a microphone for the first time.
Why youth voices matter
Nuclear weapons remain one of the greatest threats to humanity and future generations. The young people of today will live with the consequences of the decisions made now. When they understand the issue and speak about it openly, they become a strong voice for disarmament and peace in their communities.
Standing together for a nuclear-free world
The session ended with a group photo on stage behind the campaign banner, which reads “Youth for Peace, Equality & A Nuclear-Free World.” Together, participants and volunteers made a shared commitment to keep the conversation going.
